Stichting Latin Fire
About Us
A Rotterdam foundation without profit motive, producing the Latin Fire Awards Festival and building the national infrastructure the Dutch Latin dance scene has been missing.
Our story
Nearly three years in the making
Latin Fire grew out of Bailando Collab, a community-building effort started in 2023 — years of unpaid work assembling the professional network, the social channels, the school relationships and the trust that a festival of this scale depends on.
Founder and festival director Tingting Zhang brings eighteen years of building and scaling ventures across Europe and Asia to that foundation. The foundation was formalised by notarial deed in April 2025.

Three founding principles
What we stand for
Excellence
Professional international standards for competition, judging and performance — the level Dutch dancers currently have to travel abroad to reach.
Community
A festival built by the community, for the community, with more than 400 professionals co-creating it.
Inclusion
300 free tickets ensure that cost is never a barrier to participating in your own cultural heritage.
Governance
How we are run
The board is being expanded to five members, strengthening independent oversight in line with the Governance Code Cultuur. The foundation is represented by two board members jointly — no individual holds sole signing authority.
No board member is remunerated from festival budgets. Production is delivered by a professional event management team alongside stage managers for each hall, a volunteer coordinator, and contracted security and first aid — all working to the foundation's published rulebook and codes of practice.
Contact the foundation →We work to the Governance Code Cultuur, the Fair Practice Code and the Code Diversiteit & Inclusie — in our contracting, our programming and how we select the people on our stages.
